Had a great time with these lovely ladies, who happen to be one of the cutest mommy/daughter duos I have ever met! We could not have picked a better day for the shoot either; it was a gorgeous, 80 degree fall day with perfect warm, fall sunlight.
I recently spent a weekend with one of my old friends from middle school and her husband in San Francisco, and we decided it was the perfect time to do a shoot. They are already married, and recently had an anniversary so it was a perfect opportunity. They are such an amazing couple, and are a blast to be around. Also, this was my first shoot I’ve done in my favorite city, so I’m really excited about that as well.
We could not have gotten any luckier with the perfect weather we got on this day. A heat wave in October.. Only in California! We had a blast during the shoot, and the photos came out absolutely gorgeous. She was a brave girl and even got herself in the cold water as the sun was setting, but it was well worth it for the beautiful shots we got.
Watching him grow up has been amazing, not to mention how quickly it is happening! Seems like not so long ago I was trying to make him giggle as a newborn, (realizing he wasn’t able to smile yet, but trying anyways.) He is growing up a sweet, smart, and fun boy and am looking forward to seeing all his stages in life.
Anytime I have a shoot with a sweet little one (such as 4 year old Taytum) where I get to run around the playground and climb up slides, I’m all in. We all had a great time, and it’s such a blast photographing and interacting with families and their little ones.
If I had to describe this wedding in one word, it’d be joyful. Everyone was happy and carefree the entire day, and it really made for a great wedding. The ceremony and reception were held at the groom’s father’s beautiful house out in the country, and it was a day of perfect weather. Everyone had such a blast, danced the evening away, and laughed and smiled like crazy.
Boys will be boys!
Just a little brother-sister love! 🙂
What’s a wedding without the groomsmen giving the bride a hard time?
So sweet.. Creighton and Cindy had a special dance with each other’s parents.
Cutest cake topper!
Creighton and his boys love air soft… so naturally, we needed some epic photos like this.Last, but not least, NEVER mess with this girl 😉
I spent a week in Colorado and Nebraska visiting with family. My cousin Sandi and her family came down from Canada, and my cousin Lee-An and her family, who live in Colorado, myself and my Nana all went out to my Aunt’s ranch in Nebraska for our family celebration. It was a gorgeous day and we got everyone together for some great family photos. I love being a photographer and love all my subjects, but it’s extra special when I get to photograph my own family.
They had a Christmas card photo taken like this years ago, and wanted a now and then photo.. Super cute.
All the kids.. including myself 🙂
Combined cousin families.
Got everybody together.. Nana, her daughter Sheila, and Sheila’s two daughters and their families… My lovely big family.
We did this shoot out on my aunt’s ranch in Nebraska. Connor also happens to be my little cousin, so I was super excited to take these. It’s crazy to think he (and myself) are all grown up. Seems like yesterday we were just little kids and here he is already a senior in High School. I’m very proud of him and who he’s grown up to be.
The lovely bride Griffin: being a photographer and former “Brookie” like myself, I was honestly somewhat worried about how she would react to having another photographer in charge of her wedding. (Besides the fact that photographers are notorious for hating being in front of the lens, and oh yeah… quite particular about how they are photographed.) All my worries went out the window as soon as it came time, though; her and her groom Brian were so easy going and a blast to work with. They were truly made for each other, and their love and adoration for each other is clear as day.
Even as the rain slowly started to fall on the beach during their ceremony, everything still ran smoothly and beautifully. Followed by a lovely reception at the Ventura Harbor Sheraton, it was an exciting, happy day had by all.
Griffin and her bridesmaids wore pretty anklets and their bare feet for the beach ceremony
Griffin wore her mother’s wedding vail; a very special touch.
Since the ceremony was barefoot, Griffin wore a pair of sparkly flats for walking around and at the reception… adorable!
They were such a happy bunch to photograph. They were completely full of laughs and energy; I was in tears throughout the whole shoot from laughing so hard. There is no one definition to fit every family, there are no such thing as “normal” families… they are an inspiring reminder of the importance of love and being happy, regardless of what your family is or isn’t.
